Every year, the global juice industry generates millions of tonnes of citrus peel as a by-product. What was once a disposal problem is now one of the best examples of circular economy in the botanical industry — and it is where our raw materials begin.
Turning by-product into value
Instead of relying on wild-harvested plants, we source citrus peel directly from juice processors. The peel is dried, sorted and extracted; remaining biomass returns to agriculture as soil amendment. Nothing is wasted, and no dedicated farmland is consumed.
Why buyers should care
- Traceability: a short, auditable chain from processor to extract.
- Price stability: by-product sourcing is less exposed to crop failure than wild botanicals.
- Certification-ready documentation: sustainability claims need evidence, and our supply chain provides it.
Sustainable sourcing is not marketing at Green Trading — it is how the supply chain is built.
